The Mid-term Ride of Senator Brown

The Mid-term Ride of Senator Brown

Scott Brown’s improbable win and the energy of the Tea Party movement that helped to sweep him into office have stirred the imagination and creativity of the electorate.  Mainstreet America will not sit by and let the debate be dictated by the left.  Incumbents, regardless of party, should fear a well-informed and politically active public.

A Submission from Mainstreetradical reader Marcia Devere:
The Mid-term Ride of Senator Brown
Listen my countrymen and you shall hear
Of a new “politique” beginning to appear.
On the nineteenth of January, two thousand ten,
Voters cried out, “Let real change begin!”
We will all remember this day and year,
When voters told incumbents they have plenty to fear.
The people will waken and listen to hear
In every city, college, factory and town,
The long overdue message of our new Senator Brown.

Thomas Jefferson was a political sage, and I think we would be wise to remember some of his words.

"All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent."

"Enlighten the people, generally, and tyranny and oppressions of body and mind will vanish like spirits at the dawn of day"

Guess who just woke up on January 19, 2010?
